ResQ โ Terms of Service
Last updated 2 July 2026. Plain-English terms for using ResQ in the UK.
What ResQ is
ResQ is a marketplace that connects people who need vehicle recovery with independent recovery drivers nearby. The driver who helps you is an independent operator, not a ResQ employee. ResQ arranges the connection, sets the price you see, and handles payment.
Price and payment
- The rescue price and any extras (like a refuel) are shown before you confirm, along with a ResQ service fee โ the total on the confirmation screen is exactly what you pay.
- Your card is authorised when a driver accepts and charged when the job completes. If the job is cancelled before completion, the hold is released.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. The current beta runs in test mode โ no live charge is made.
Cancelling
Roadside recovery is an urgent service you ask us to start straight away. By confirming a request you agree the service begins immediately, and โ as UK consumer law allows for services requested urgently โ you give up the usual 14-day cooling-off cancellation right for this job once the recovery is fully performed. You can cancel free of charge any time before payment is taken.
Being sensible at the roadside
Follow the safety guidance in the app (on motorways: get behind the barrier, stay uphill of your vehicle). In an emergency, or if anyone is in danger, call 999 before doing anything in the app.
Drivers
Drivers must submit verification (identity, licence, insurance) before taking jobs and must hold valid insurance for recovery work. ResQ may suspend or remove drivers. Drivers are paid the full rescue price for each completed job.
Liability
ResQ provides the connection platform. Recovery work itself is carried out by the independent driver, who is responsible for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. ResQ's liability to you in connection with a job is capped at the amount you paid for it.
Problems and disputes
Tell us about any problem at dreicjohn@gmail.com โ refunds are handled case by case, quickly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
